The Health Protection Agency in partnership with an animation company, Vis-IT Ltd, schools and other key agencies have developed a resource pack to teach handwashing in primary schools. The pack links in with the school curriculum using animation, lesson plans, an art competition, posters and much much more.

The pack was piloted in 300 primary schools in Essex during 2006 during which an art competition was run, please see below. It is currently undergoing further evaluation with the intention to roll it out to primary schools across England and Wales in 2008/9.
